Boat ride around Nha Trang Bay

Nha Trang Bay is well-known to tourists for its beautiful islands, pure beaches and plentiful and fresh seafood. Most visitors choose to take in the whole view of the bay in a cable car on the way to Vinpearl Land but there’s another way which is more exciting and worth a try – on a speed boat.
To start your journey, tourists need to come to Cau Da port which is located at the end of the main street of Tran Phu in Nha Trang City.

A large group of tourists can choose a wooden boat priced at VND2 million (about US$100) for the bay trip. If you come in a small group of three or four people or individuals who want to enjoy a private trip, a smaller speed boat ride is priced at VND1 million.

Once the boat hits the surface, you can’t help but say ‘wow’ as you see the sparkling blue East Sea under the sunlight and the water sprays your face and clothes on the way to Tre Island, which is the first destination 3.5 km away from Cau Da port.

From the port tourists can admire the huge cable car system which is the longest in Southeast Asia to cross the sea linking the mainland and Vinpearl Land tourist site on Tre Island.

For those who are adventurous, scuba diving or snorkeling at Mun Island is an ideal way to see the beauty of the coral ranges and you can discover caves at depths of 15 meters. For VND280,000 to VND500,000 tourists can hire a private instructor to teach them how to dive.

There are hundreds of fish of beautiful and bright colors to swim along with in this magical location. After an adventurous morning, tourists get back on the boat to head to a floating fishing village to enjoy fresh seafood for lunch.

Travelers can choose live seafood like squid, lobster, fish and crab in their nests and then the food is cooked right at your table. For lobster lovers, don’t hesitate to feast yourselves here as the price for one kilo is just VND200,000 a mere fraction of what you would pay in Saigon.

The next stop is Mieu island where Tri Nguyen aquarium and Bai Soi beach are located. The aquarium holds a huge collection of ocean creatures and located nearby is Soi (gravel) beach.

Tam Island is easy to recognize as you can spot the huge hot-air balloon hanging around above the island. The balloon was put into operation last year and is 22 meters in diameter and can take tourists to the height of 150 meters for a panoramic view of Nha Trang Bay.

The sun goes down at horizon signaling the end of an exciting trip on the speed boat around the beautiful Nha Trang Bay. The driver takes it easy at this point as he goes slow to let the tourists enjoy a peaceful moment as they take in the scenery at sunset. Next time you go to the bay, take the boat.
